I will never forget the first time I saw real amber, in a necklace a family friend gave me. I remember being fascinated by how ancient the small beads were. And the fossilized amber that preserves something for all time is incredible. These earrings are not amber, of course, but sparkly Swarovskis instead.

Then, of course, we have a stunningly interesting thistle. To me, the thistle is so interesting because of its long history of being the national emblem of Scotland. Yet, depending on the season, a thistle can be beautiful, or rather plain. Beauty is hidden within all of us, just like the thistle.
