Cameos have always fascinated me, with their silhouette of a mysterious beautiful lady. Cameo jewelry is iconic and the earliest examples date back to the 3rd century BC. Because they have been so popular throughout different eras, many people have a cameo that they have inherited or admired. They are typically made out of shell, coral, stone, or lava. Genuine hand-carved abalone cameos are not easy to come by these days and are usually quite expensive.

When I stumbled across these lovely ladies, although they aren’t abalone, I thought they were a stunning faux. They are a matte resin of peacock blue and milky white.
