Cameos have always fascinated me, with their classic silhouette of a mysterious beautiful lady. Genuine hand-carved cameos are not easy to come by these days and are very expensive.  Cameo jewelry is iconic and the earliest examples date back to the 3rd century BC. Because they have been so popular throughout different eras, many people have a cameo that they have inherited or admired. They are typically made out of shell, coral, stone, or lava. Shell cameos are typically made out of conch shell and have an orangish-pink background with a white or cream foreground.

When I stumbled across these lovely ladies, although they aren’t abalone, I thought they were a stunning faux, quite resembling the orangish pink of real abalone cameos. I hope you love them as much as I do!
